2020-21 Hockey Winnipeg Coach Development & Mentorship Program

Hockey Winnipeg is pleased to introduce the brand-new Hockey Winnipeg Coach Development and Mentorship Program! In partnership with Evolution Hockey, this program will help educate all Winnipeg coaches with specific topics related to the age groups that they are coaching as well as provide all coaches with the tools and resources to run effective practices this year.

The program is COMPLETELY FREE for all Winnipeg coaches (U7-U18 / AAA, AA, A, HL) who choose to participate. The program consists of 40 one-hour online clinics and 40 one-hour on-ice clinics in total (all clinics are designed with age-specific categories). In addition, coaches who attend any of the online clinics will be added to Evolution Hockey’s online application where they will receive weekly practice plans, skill and drill demonstrations, and education materials for the entire season. Use the link below to view the clinic schedule (note – ice times are in yellow):

Coach Clinics Schedule

The on-ice sessions (optional to attend) will take place at Dutton arena and will give coaches the opportunity to directly learn from and work with Evolution Hockey staff members! In order to attend an on-ice session, coaches MUST have attended one of the appropriate online clinics. For example, to attend a U9 Skills (U7&U9 coaches) on-ice clinic, you must have attended a U9 Skills (U7&U9 coaches) online clinic. Helmets are mandatory for all on-ice clinics and participants must bring their own skates, sticks, and gloves.

Please note that these clinics are not and cannot be used as a substitute for the any of the Hockey Manitoba Coach 1-Intro to Coach, Coach 2-Coach Level, and Checking Skills 1 certification clinics. The clinics in this brand-new program are meant to provide specific and extra education to coaches that will help them and their players gain the knowledge and skills to have positive experiences in hockey!

Registration for the clinics will be available on Friday, Sept 18 and will be limited for each clinic – so sign up quickly!

Thank you,
