Hockey Winnipeg is currently seeking companies and organizations to become a sponsor for our Annual All-Star events that take place in January 2018. These events highlight some of the top players in their age category. Over 500 players ages 8 to 18 will take place in these events throughout the month with thousands of people attending the events themselves as spectators.

The events that are included in this sponsorship opportunity are:

AA All-Star Day – January 20, 2018 @ Gateway Recreation Centre

Female All-Star Day – January 27, 2018 @ East End Arena

Peewee/Bantam A All-Star Events – January 20, 2018 @ Allard Arena

Ron Stamm Midget All Star Game – January 27, 2018 @ Bell MTS IcePlex

2017-2018 Hockey Winnipeg rule book

 

The 2017-2018 Hockey Winnipeg rule book can now be found under “Resources”.  Please note some of the following rule changes:

 

  • Minor Midget and Minor Bantam have been eliminated
  • Midget now includes ages 15, 16 & 17
  • Bantam now includes ages 13 & 14
  • Body checking is only allowed at Midget A1 and Bantam A1.  All other divisions are now ‘non-body checking’
  • Novice A1 is now Novice A (7&8) and will be played on ½ half surface until December 31st

 

Provincial Midget AAA Zones

With the Winnipeg Bruins joining the Thrashers and Wild in the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League some clarification is needed on the new Provincial Midget Zones.  The new Zones are as follows:

Winnipeg Bruins

  • St. Boniface
  • St. Vital
  • Transcona
  • River East – South of McLeod/Oakland

Winnipeg Thrashers

  • St. James-Assiniboia – Postal Codes R2Y, R3H, R3E, R2R
  • Seven Oaks
  • Lord Selkirk
  • River East – North of McLeod/Oakland

Winnipeg Wild

  • Fort Garry North
  • South Winnipeg
  • Assiniboine Park
  • St. James-Assiniboia – Postal Codes R3K, R3J, R3G, R3C

Female Skate and Educate 2017

Hockey Winnipeg Female Council will be hosting a professionally run skate for Novice aged girls (8 years & younger)

The event will be held @ the MTS ICEPLEX

Tuesday, August 29,  from 5:30 – 6:30 pm or 6:40 – 7:40 pm OR Thursday, August 31, 2017 from 5:30 – 6:30 pm or 6:45 -7:45 pm.
