There was some great Wednesday night AAA Action, with the City Midget Sharks hosting the Warriors at Gateway Arena. The 5th place Sharks went into the game down 7 guys due to injuries and suspensions, although still looking to create a bigger separation in the standings between then and the Warriors.
The Warriors started off the scoring early in the game on a 5 on 3 power play with a shot from the point by # 6, Declan Curtis. The Warriors held the lead up to the 5 minute mark until a late period push by the Sharks, where they added two goals in under a minute, scored by #8, Chris Mealy and #14, Brandon Ambrozik. The Warriors ended the period by getting the next goal to tie it up, scored by #7, Jack Kaiser. The shots at the end of the 1st period were 9-6 for the Warriors.
Half way through the 2nd, the Warriors regained the lead with a goal from # 9, Bryden Kiesman. Just 35 seconds later, the Sharks rebounded with a goal by #14, Brandon Ambrozik, his second of the night. In the last 5 minutes, the Sharks were awarded a penalty shot after being pulled down on a breakaway. #14, Brandon Ambrozik put home his 3rd of the night for the hat trick. The shots at the end of the 2nd were 24-11 for the Warriors.
Going into the 3rd period, with the Sharks up 4-3 to start, the 3rd period was full of back and forth action. Around the 7 minute mark, the Warriors managed to tie up the game again, with a goal from #19, Dylan Waldmo. With the Warriors going to the penalty kill with under 2-minutes left, the Warriors coaching staff called their timeout. Almost immediately after this, the Warriors added a short handed goal by #7, Jack Kaiser. To finish off the game, the Warriors # 9, Bryden Kiesman scored the empty net goal to make the final score 6-4 for the Warriors.
