Hockey Canada Assist Fund: Provides assistance up to $500 to subsidize registration fees. Financial eligibility is based on the Low Income Cut-Off (LICO) guidelines from Statistics Canada.

 

 

KidSport Manitoba: Provides assistance to subsidize registration fees up to $500 per eligible child, per calendar year. In Winnipeg, house league hockey (Timbits – A1, A2, A3) is not funded through KidSport. Financial eligibility is based on the LICO guidelines from Statistics Canada. The application deadline is the 15th – or the last working day prior to the 15th of every month by 4:30 pm.

 

JumpStart: Provides up to $300 in funding for children between 4- 18 years old. Families must meet the specific financial criteria as per Revenue Canada’s Low-Income Cut-Offs (LICO) chart.

 

 

Grindstone Award Foundation: The Grindstone Award Foundation provides grant assistance for FEMALE players to assist with registration fees (up to $500) as well as an equipment grant for 1 of 25 full sets of equipment donated by the NHLPA Goals and Dreams Fund.  To be eligible for the registration and equipment grants, families must first meet specific financial criteria as per Revenue Canada’s LICO chart. Annual application deadline is July 31st.

 

Black Girl Hockey Club: has established a scholarship program to subsidize the costs of playing hockey for Black women ages 9-18 years old. These scholarships are designed to assist and encourage Black women to pursue their interest in hockey, a sport where they are often underrepresented. If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award ranging from $500 to $5000. Application deadlines vary, please visit their website for more information.

 

Cooper Nemeth Memorial Player Financial Assistance Fund: is an option available to Hockey Winnipeg members at the AA level only. The program funding may include, but would not be limited to, the following incurred expenses: Area Association program participation, administrative and volunteer fees; league and exhibition game travel expenses; additional ice fees, including try-out ice; tournament fees; monies collected for team pictures and wind-up parties; medals and awards; and personal clothing items which become the property of the applicable player. Deadline to apply is November 13, 2024.

 

Dianne Woods Memorial Player Financial Assistance Fund: is an option available only to players under 17 in Hockey Winnipeg. The program funding may include, but would not be limited to, the following incurred expenses: Area Association program participation, administrative and volunteer fees; league and exhibition game travel expenses; additional ice fees, including try-out ice; tournament fees; monies collected for team pictures and wind-up parties; medals and awards; and personal clothing items which become the property of the applicable player. Deadline to apply is November 13, 2024.
