Volunteer Recognition Award – SWHA

Hockey Winnipeg is honouring the contributions of volunteers by presenting awards on a monthly basis.  There will be 14 awards presented, including one for each Area Association as well as the AAA Council, AA Council, Female Council and a Hockey Winnipeg general.

Award recipients are chosen by their Association/Council.  In order to be eligible, the individual must have spent at least five years helping in their community.

For September, South Winnipeg Hockey Association has chosen to present Lise Comte with the Volunteer Recognition Award! SWHA President Warren Hruska had this to say about Lise:

Lise Comte is an exceptional head timekeeper. She has been involved in the South Winnipeg Hockey Association since 2014, recruiting, training and developing young aspiring timekeepers.  Lise also is the assignor for timekeepers in SWHA. She has been involved in a major update of the Hockey Winnipeg Timekeeper’s Manual and has spent hours upon hours mentoring young children to become better off-ice officials.

Her above average organizational skills, as well as her excellent communication skills make her an invaluable member of the SWHA board. Her ability to problem solve in stressful and time sensitive situations makes her a huge asset to any organization.

In addition to her role with off-ice officials, Lise also serves as the Main Contact in SWHA for the Novice Development Zone Coordinator program.  In this role, she helps with recruiting and assigning Bantam and Midget AAA/AA players to Novice Half-Ice games to run the Development Zone activities.  This is an important mentorship/community building initiative.

Congratulations Lise!
