COACHING OPPORTUNITIES: 

The Hockey Winnipeg AAA/AA Council is accepting coaching applications for the 2026 – 2027 season. The positions are for “AAA” teams in the U15, U17 Prep and U18 Provincial leagues as well as the “AA” U13, U15 and U18 leagues. As well as being part of an outstanding hockey program, all of our AAA and AA coaches receive a generous Year End Honorarium, a semi-annual Travel Allowance, a AAA/AA Team Wear Allowance and full reimbursement of fees for required Coaching Qualification Courses and Seminars taken while coaching in the AAA/AA programs. U13 Manitoba Games Information

Hockey Winnipeg is responsible for assembling 2 U13 Male and 2 U13 Female Manitoba Games Teams.

Eligibility: U13 Major age boys (2013 birth year) and Minor and Major age girls (2013, 2014 birth years).

Girls playing coed hockey, are only eligible for the Girls Manitoba Games teams.

Manitoba Games boundaries are different than season teams. Please consult the map below to determine which region your child is eligible for.

The program is the first step in the Manitoba Development Program which will ultimately lead to Hockey Manitoba’s Team Manitoba Provincial Team. This program has been created to identify the top athletes at these age categories who will compete in two separate phases.

The first phase is inclusion in the 2026 Manitoba Games occurring March 1-7 in Thompson, Manitoba. Boys will be March 1-4, Girls will be March 4-7.

  • Each team will be comprised of 15 skaters (2 G, 5 D and 8 F) as well as two coaches and a manager.
  • There will be no practices or competitions between the regional evaluation skates and the Manitoba Games Finals.

Hockey Winnipeg is hosting their tryout on December 22nd. More Information to follow in the coming weeks.

U18AA Prep Skates are for 2010, 2009 and 2008 born players only

  • 1 group per area (Bruins, Wild, Thrashers). 28 skaters, 4 goalies per session. Max 32 participants 4 skates.
  • Cost is $180 per participant
  • Contact allowed but any hit deemed unacceptable by the on ice coaching staff will result in disqualification from any remaining skates without refund. Tryouts are just around the corner and we do not want injuries. 

 U15AAA Prep Skates are for 2011 and 2012 born players only

  • Participants registering for this level should have experience playing in a competitive hockey environment
  • 2 groups per area (Bruins, Wild, Thrashers). 28 skaters, 4 goalies per session. Max 32 participants 6 skates.
  • Cost is $260 per participant
  • Non-contact as not all participants will have had the hitting clinic

Other Important Information

  • Camps are expected to fill quickly. A wait list will be created that people can register for. If when registering the camp is full, please register on the wait list. As spots do open up we will consult the wait list and reach out to ensure that the camps are full.
  • A $20.00 admin fee may be applied for changes in registration or cancellations.
  • Our in season coaches will be running these sessions and will be putting the kids through challenging drills and game like scenerios to help them prepare for the 2025-2026 AA and AAA Evaluations.
  • Costs will include the skates and a Jersey.

Girls’ and Women’s AA/AAA Coach Application 2025/2026 Season

Hockey Winnipeg AA/AAA is seeking qualified applicants for Head Coach positions within our Girls’ U13 – U15, Women’s U18 AA and Women’s U18 AAA Programs. All coaching staff will be required to complete a mandatory and satisfactory Child Abuse Registry Check (CAR) which is mandated by Hockey MB as well as a Criminal Record Check.
