In order to be exempt from league play, the Hockey Winnipeg schedule exemption form must be filled out prior to the league exemption deadline date. All teams participating in the HW league (excluding House League) who wish to attend a tournament or team function and want to be off the schedule during that time MUST complete a schedule exemption. Your request for exemption cannot exceed five (5) days inclusive maximum. Teams are only permitted to request ONE exemption per half. If you are not traveling anywhere, you may either put ‘Winnipeg’ or type in ‘exemption only’.

The first and second half deadline dates can be found on the Hockey Winnipeg Home page under ‘Events–>Important Dates’.

  • HW Travel permits are filled out at the same time and in the same form as schedule exemptions. For teams just needing a travel permit (when the request is made after the exemption deadline), they still fill out all of the required information in the exemption/permit form and submit it. Any time sensitive requests (teams traveling within 7 days time) should be brought to the attention of the office, prior to submission.
  • Teams traveling within the Province are only required to have the HW permit (no charge). Teams traveling out of Province or Country MUST also complete the Hockey MB travel permit at a cost of $20. The HMB permit form can be accessed here: HMB Travel Permit. Teams can only request and obtain their Hockey MB permit through the website. No in person submissions will be accepted.
  • Travel permits are not required for exhibition games within Manitoba nor are they required for tournaments within the Hockey Winnipeg Boundaries (includes Headingley, Selkirk, St Andrews, East/West St Paul, etc.)

GAME SUMMARIES

The game summary is created from the information that is provided on the official game sheet. Changes to this information can only be made at the game and must be signed off by the game official. Once the game sheet has been entered into the system no changes can be made unless it is and entry error by the statistician.

The Hockey Winnipeg Office will not return any messages regarding the statistics nor will the entertain any phone calls on this topic.

TEAM STATISTICS

The Team Statistics are created from the information that is provided on the official game sheet. Changes to this information can only be made at the game and must be signed off by the game official. Once the game sheet has been entered into the system no changes can be made unless it is and entry error by the statistician.

GOALTENDING STATISTICS

It is the responsibility of the Home Team to ensure that the game sheets that are being submitted have all the information required to enter the statistics which include indicating who played goal for both teams.  If this information is not provided, then the goaltender statistics get assigned to a missing goaltender for the team.

The information can be corrected by having the team coach/manager supply the league with the correct information.

The Hockey Winnipeg Office will not return any messages regarding the statistics nor will the entertain any phone calls on this topic.

When you are adding your child(ren) to your profile you will be asked to enter your child’s name, DOB and Association. If the information entered matches the information in HCR it will bring up your child’s name and their HCR ID number. However if there is no matching record you will be brought to a screen that states “No matching record has been found in the Hockey Canada Registry”. It is very important at this stage NOT to choose “Information entered is correct”. When you select “Information entered is correct” the system will automatically create a new profile for your child. Each player has a unique ID number and profile in the Hockey Canada Registry – by adding a new profile the course will not be linked to the proper profile and your child will still appear as not being compliant. This is a flaw in the RIS and HCR databases that has not been rectified yet so we are asking everyone to watch for this when you add your child to your profile. If no matching records appear you can contact your Association Registrar and they will try assist you in finding your child’s record in the database. For those who are adding children who have never played before and have not yet registered for hockey, you can proceed at the “No matching record has been found in the Hockey Canada Registry” stage, as it will create a new profile that can be linked at registration time.
